It's normal and natural to get caught up in the thoughts, fears, and overwhelming considerations in our head. Being able to bring ourselves into the moment where we physically exist can help us move through these moments.
In Forest Park just across the river from our house, I thought you’d enjoy a quick practice that can help us with this process. I watched my daughter avoid a panic attack at the dentist last week, looking around the room and counting the blues…then the reds…then the oranges. Her eyes were wide and scared as she looked to me for help, but after just a few ganders around the room, and the procedure behind her, “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be,” she shared, warming my heart.
Thoughts are scary.
Reality is hard sometimes - especially these days - but often not nearly as hard as our fear-brain wants us to believe…
